Break time

Hey everybody! Wrapping things up around here for the Summer and preparing for the beginning of school. There won't be any new posts here for about a week while I finish up some work and get everyone situated for a new school year ahead. I am excited about some new plans for my work and am looking forward to sharing some of that here as the Fall season approaches.

Summer Snapshots

Hello out there! Lots happening around here. People turning 9 and 11 years old, sleepover parties,visits from family, baseball and biking in the park, Olympic-watching. Trying to fit in all kinds of Summer fun before school days roll in. These are some photos from the park near our home. The shadow from that huge oak is so cool and I'm loving it.

The postcard giveaway/swap from last week was a big success. Everyone was happy to join in and now I'm itchy to get back in the studio to make a few more batches. I think I'd like to print and sell some designs that have been in my sketchbook for awhile. Stay tuned!

Hi everyone :) I have received all the names for the postcard giveaway that I will be able to take. I only had a limited amount of cards but appreciate the enthusiastic response form everyone and thank you all for you kind words! I will have them all in the mail this afternon so keep your eyes on your mailboxes.........

Executive Decision

Hi everyone! Remember that postcard swap that I told you about at the start of the summer? (June 10)

Well, as you know, I made my postcards right away and got very excited about the prospect of swapping with other artists. As it happens, the original swap is still on hold on the other website and I can't stand the excitement of waiting any longer! Sooooooo.........here's what I'm going to do......

I have a dozen handmade postcards ready to mail.If you would like one, please drop a note to my e-mail address(on my "About" page) with your name and snail mail address and I'll mail you one :):)

The theme of the original swap was "Summer" and I want to get these out before the next season rolls in. AND, if you are the creative type and would like to send along a handmade postcard creation to me, I would be thrilled. Keep in mind that a return card is not required...but I would love to see what you have up your sleeves if you feel so inclined :) I'll take the first 12 names that pop up in my In Box.....

Words at strange hours

Hello out there! So, some words have been putting themselves together in my head but it seems to be happening in the middle of the night. Or sometimes during that time in the morning where I wake up too early (4:30am) and just before I doze off again a perfectly formed idea presents itself. And of course I spend several extra moments trying to repeat it all in my mind in hopes of remembering every bit when I wake up for the day. No dice. This rarely works and today I have that feeling that there are ideas that need to be expressed but are hidden away for the time being. A bit frustrating to say the least ...

Crazy thunderstorms have been rolling through our area as well which makes for haphazard sleeping patterns anyway. Maybe it feeds creative thought to keep waking up and falling back asleep throughout the night? I seem to remember this from when my children were babies and we were all waking up often in the night.
