Squam Art Workshops

One more post about Squam........ :) Thought I'd fill you in on several of the wonderful classes offered.

Work by the very talented people in the "Create a painting in a day" class with Marisa :)

That's mine on the far right! Marisa was so encouraging and positive, it was a joy to be in her class. Several people, (me included!) had those moments of doubt when you get to the middle of a piece and Marisa just kept saying "Keep going" ,"Keep working" which is sometimes all you really need to hear to get you to the other side. Thanks Marisa :)

Lizzy was my teacher for the next two days of classes. Creating Patterns and Blockprinting on Fabric.

And let me just tell you I have fallen HARD for creating patterns. I have always naturally put together shapes and colors in my head and seen the negative space around things as well as the positive space. This is such a pulling together of all of those things and I love it!

Lizzy truly loves what she does and I think it makes her a wonderful teacher. Her enthusiasm shows through and gets everyone around her excited to create. Thanks Lizzy!

Andrew was one of the students in my class and has some great examples of his patterns and others on his blog. Definitely worth a look.

Well, it's up to me to keep this feeling going and create something everyday. Along with everything else Squam Art Workshops gives to people, is the feeling that this is important. Creating, imagining, exploring, and supporting each other in all of it :)

Maybe you will find yourself there next year??

Th Squam workshops look fun! I find alot of times I will start something and then not really like it but by the time I finish I really like it funny how that works! ( from the fish-bowl)
